Registering your location
At Imagine Locations, we specialise in transforming your home or property into the perfect film or photoshoot location. Handling everything from initial setup to continued full diary management and support. You work with us directly and only with us, as we handle all communication with clients to keep it simple.
Signing up is easy! We handle everything—from ensuring your property is photo-ready, to attracting and managing bookings, negotiating rates, and, most importantly, helping you become an exceptional host.
How a Shoot Works
Options & Bookings
Clients place a provisional “option” on dates, subject to your availability, which has to be honoured until either confirmation or release. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a digital day sheet with all shoot details.
Payment
We invoice upfront for new clients (some have 30-day terms). Once paid, you invoice us, we transfer the money, less our 20% commission.
Paperwork
Every client signs a hire contract covering liability, insurance, hours and fees. We hold each clients public liability insurance to cover the shoot, up to £10million in most cases.
Shoot Day
Ensure the property is clean, tidy and as listed. Welcome the team, provide tea/coffee, then let them work.
Service & Fees
Rates
- Commercial/Advertising Stills: £1,250–£1,500 per day
- Editorial: From £850 per day +
- Filming / TV: £2,500 – £5,000 per day (all depending)
- Overtime: +20 % of day rate per extra hour
- A standard day is 9 hours (8 a.m.–5 p.m. or 9 a.m.–6 p.m.)
- Rates are bespoke, according to usage, crew size, timings, etc.

- Dedicated page for your property on our website
- Marketing across socials and to our weekly mail outs to all top end clients
- Negotiation of hire fees – Always approved by you.
- Pre- and post-shoot admin, all comms, contracts and dealings with the client.
Photos
Professional photos are essential. We can help by recommending a few Interiors Photographers.
Commission
Imagine Locations retains 20 % of the location hire fee. Negotiated rates include our commission, unless we state otherwise.
Registration
We charge a registration fee which is deducted from your first booking. If your property is accepted, we charge a one-off £250 + VAT registration fee. No shoot no fee.
What Makes a Stand-Out Location
Location
London properties are always in demand. Outside London, a property needs unique appeal—expansive gardens, outbuildings, a pool or spectacular scenery.
Room Size & Layout
Spacious, versatile rooms let photographers pull back for wide shots. A minimum of three key rooms—living, dining, kitchen—plus main bedroom/bathroom is ideal.
Light
Abundant natural light is essential. Each location must have good natural light.
Interior Features
High ceilings, statement windows, original floors, fireplaces and stylish décor all add value. Neutral walls with a few feature areas give clients more creative options.
Exterior Features
Large gardens, terraces, pools and interesting architecture make a property irresistible.

1. Fill out the ‘Become a Host’ form below, attaching some images of key areas of the property, for us to determine if your property is suitable. These can be taken on your phone.
2. If your property is suitable we will require high resolution professional photographs to proceed with the registration, we can help in recommending a photographer if needed. We are happy to use existing professional photographs (if you have the rights for us to use them) if we feel they are suitable quality to present the property in the very best light.
3. Once registered we handle all contracts and paperwork for bookings.
4. We will always check in with you to ensure the brief and the schedule works for you. You are not expected to say yes to every brief that comes in but some flexibility is preferred.
5. We will negotiate the very best rates for you.
6. Promote your property on social media and to industry contacts on a daily basis to increase interest amongst our top reputable clients.
